The garden was founded in the Tinsukia district in 1927. In 2008, a new owner took over the run-down garden, which at that time was in a deplorable condition, and rebuilt it as an organic garden. Today, 538 hectares are cultivated by 1.400 employees. Including the families, a good 6.000 people live on Tonganagaon. A finely tart organic Assam with golden tips and a delicate, malty note.
