The Bannockburn Tea Estate is one of the oldest Darjeeling estates and was established in 1850, just a few years after the British brought the first Chinese tea plants toDarjeeling. The surroundings reminded the Scottish planters of their homeland and sothey christened the garden Bannockburn. The tea cultivation area of 143 hectares is located in the western Darjeeling valley and produces some 90.000 kg of finest Darjeeling tea per year. Sweet and floral in taste, light in infusion, from the middle period.
