The Goomtee Tea Estate was founded in 1899 by the Briton Henry Lennox and is located in the Kurseong Valley at an altitude of 1.000–2.000 metres. The entire tea cultivation area spans approx. 200hectares. The estate gets its name from the Hindi word ‘Ghoomatee’, which means ‘turn’. This refers to the constantly ‘turning’, i.e. changing weather from fog, rain to sunshine. Yellow-gold cup, smooth yet distinctive quality.
