The Gielle Tea Garden is located in the Teesta Valley, between the strong and turbulent Teesta River and the gentle currents of the Gielle. The Gielle plantation was foundedin 1841 and continuously expanded until 1856, when only selected China tea bushes were planted. The garden spans a height of 762 to 1.828 m and comprises an area of 414 hectares. A sweet-scented tea with a mild flavour from the end of the harvest period.
