Bancha is made from the leaves of the tea bush after the Sencha harvest. These leaves are significantly larger and harder and therefore more resistant to insect attack, so the plant no longer protects theseleaves with high amounts of caffeine. Bancha is very digestible due to its low caffeine content and is the ideal entry tea in-to the green orthodox tea segment.
